Hey Mel Gibson - Please stop pissing off the matrix-makers! I'm gonna go ahead and assume I speak for the lot of us when I say that his matrices are a lot more welcome here than your often-offensive ramblings about god and religion.

Let me break this down for you: There are at least a few people here who are religious and sympathize with you somewhat. You'll see them in church. The rest of us would rather that you not occupy this space with all this claptrap about ghosts and ancient torture techniques. Got that?

O.K. thanks again for the work you do with the Dead's music.
I truly have enjoyed the recordings.
I literally just got home after working all day.
Sorry we couldn't find any common ground.

You are sorry we couldn't find any common ground. What common ground were we supposed to have about this? Was I actually supposed to agree with your views about God, Christianity, and the glories of Western Society? When someone disagrees with you, you simply leave it as "sorry we cannot find any common ground" because you actually have the selfish expectation we are supposed to be like, "Yeah, man, Jesus died for our sins and people are not getting that - especially Eastern Society - and realizing they need to accept him into their hearts for salvation"? c-freedom, your "sorry we couldn't find any common ground" is just another way your words here reek of condescension for others - which are no doubt the result of your religious views you are parading here. This is a Grateful Dead forum. Please bring something to the table that is really actually about that.

I post plenty of G.D. I have been getting into the Music Vault Grateful Dead collection at You Tube.
(The commercials are starting to become an issue because some of them can't be skipped over any more.)
Not every post on this board is strictly Grateful Dead and to me that is because we all have the common Dead connection but many diverse influences.
I really have tried to take the constructive criticism and shape 'the Sunday Song' accordingly. (Perhaps because the Grateful Dead page here runs as a common stream where as something like the Furthur board has many sub-topics that are separate from each other it just is too heavy for those who are offended to simply by-pass)
Not sure why it is a big deal to have an occasional post related to Christianity and the Dead. And this week was on evil. Evil is not a uniquely Christian concept.
I am an artist and as such I have to follow my heart. If I take criticism for something I take criticism for it. My guess is Garcia liked playing 'Day job' but finally got tired of the negative feedback. (Which I think is too bad because that song would have made a nice first set closer perhaps once a tour)
Don't really know what to say about the other stuff. I just know the negative feedback I am getting does not reflect what I am actually posting as the original topic.
It seems to me just a lot of rabbit trails that get tempers flaring. I really do think the Dead had some thoughts about evil in our world. I especially think Garcia's take on the scariness of the Hell's Angels was excellent commentary.
If you notice most of the personal attacks are not from my end. I am NOT trying to tell you about you- so I am not sure why you are trying to tell me about me.
I have enough on my plate between work and family so this is wearing thin for me. I lived on tour for some really sweet years. I have some great friends and we have had some really good times. We partied hard (stoners and wharf rats)and we could talk about anything.
I am glad you are faithfully preserving and yes making the music shine with your work on G.D. recordings.
Also I've got to tell you I learned more about being a Christian on tour then I did growing up going to 'church' once a week on Sunday's.
"The more my brother looks like me,
The less I understand
The silent war that bloodied both our hands."
Best for your future HS ...

"Sorry if you [tigerbolt] feel the same way as Paine about the Bible. "

If you are going to be a condescending, disrespectful person in this forum the minute someone offers a contribution to your post, don't be surprised when other people take time to call that out - especially while proclaiming your adherence to Christianity.

Take care.
